Getting
Started
If
you are tempted by the idea of fly-fishing, but apprehensive in case
it might not suit you, or that you might embarrass yourself, you are
just a phone call away from expert help and advice. Nick
Richards, the Manager of River Test Smokery, not only has a
post-graduate certificate in education but he also has the coveted
Salmon and Trout Associations national instructors
certificate (STANIC), the professional fly-fishing
qualification. Nick is equally happy to coach beginners on a
one to one basis (at an hourly rate of £35 per hour - with all
tackle provided) or in groups of up to four at a time (for £100
per hour again with all tackle provided).
Nick
is also available to give casting lessons to fly-fishermen who feel
they would like to improve their casting technique, for the same prices. He is also available
for the stillwater fisherman who would like to venture into the specialist world of stalking trout.
Courses
are normally held at Wherwell lake, on the Marquis of Camdens
estate, or at John OGaunt lakes, near Kings
